Events
Dress warm and witness our moon change into a dramatic red color. On Tuesday, March 3, the moon will pass through Earth's shadow to create a Total Lunar Eclipse. Weather permitting, we will hold a viewing session from our observation deck starting at 5am. This is a free event.
Please check our Facebook page the night of Monday, March 2 to confirm this event will take place.
This is an opportunity for the public to come and screen a show currently under consideration for a future run at the planetarium. “Messengers of Time and Space” highlights how the International Gemini Observatory will work together with observatories that monitor the night sky for exciting astronomical events that change with time, such as the Vera Rubin Observatory in Chile. The show is free and suitable for ages 12 and up. Seating is limited.
In addition to our regularly scheduled public shows, the planetarium will offer more showtimes to coincide with school spring breaks in Bay City, Saginaw and Midland. All of the additional shows are great for children and families.
Shows and showtimesBring your families and friends and see what summer events are happening with many of Bay City’s organizations representing the arts, music, theater, reading, science, history and more. From summer camps and workshops to family events, we have something for everyone! Filling the planetarium lobby will be tables and booths with activities for all ages. Admission is free.
